Artist's Description

Ted Williams, 'The Kid' one of Ozzie Sweet's famous pictures. Like Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams was a ballplayer that graced the pages and cover of Sports magazine for decades. In 2001 Sotheby's held its first internet auction. I was lucky to win many of the lots with copyrights. That led to having many conversations with Ozzie as I began working on his images. I always sent copies for his approval. He once said I wish you had worked on my books. Sports Illustrated also used this image for its August 16, 1990, cover.

About Paul Plaine

Paul Plaine

John Naggy's learn to draw kits and his weekly TV show put Paul on a path. That path led to an art company and a 37-year career in advertising, doing artwork on ads for major ad campaigns, publishing, and the music industry. Along, that journey photography also became a significant part of his career. In 2006 I retired early and opened a fine art printing studio to work on my photos and bring my photography, digital, printmaking skills to local artists. Now on to chapter three.
