Glad to hear you are also a Yankee fan. I have two son's Yankee fans and one Mets. Although I am a Yankee fan I do cheer for the Mets. I actually attended the first game in SHEA stadium many years ago.

Nice perspective (and this compliment is coming from a Yankee fan)!

Paul Plaine replied:

Thanks for the compliment (especially from a Yankee fan). I grew up blocks from the Stadium (you know which one I mean) and am a Yankee fan first. But I love baseball - and I like the Mets. If you've seen any of my other stuff here you can see that I have a lot of Yankee Stadium photos and I have many, many more on a website I have dedicated solely to baseball photos. My studio is in White Plains - if you're ever in the neighborhood give me a shout!

Voted! I like the perspective in this image!

Paul Plaine replied:

Thanks - Shea Stadium was criticized heavily and called a "dump" by many people. Now that it's torn down and been replaced by Citifield, a lot of Met fans miss the memories they had from Shea

Artist's Description

It was the next to last game and this is one of many shots I took of the interior architecture and signs. This shot captures so much of the of the shapes that defined what was the modern look of 1964. Every Met fan who has seen this image gets very sentimental and purchases this one over all others.

About Paul Plaine

Paul Plaine

John Naggy's learn to draw kits and his weekly TV show put Paul on a path. That path led to an art company and a 37-year career in advertising, doing artwork on ads for major ad campaigns, publishing, and the music industry. Along, that journey photography also became a significant part of his career. In 2006 I retired early and opened a fine art printing studio to work on my photos and bring my photography, digital, printmaking skills to local artists. Now on to chapter three.
